Guarding and People-Based Security
Construction-Site Security
Construction sites present a different risk profile to a finished building: changing layouts, high-value plant and materials, multiple contractors, and access points that shift as the programme progresses. Our approach is built around those realities.

What it is
Construction-site security covers controlled entry for contractors, staff and deliveries, perimeter observation, and monitoring of plant, materials and equipment storage areas, alongside clear procedures for reporting and escalating incidents to site management.
How this service is delivered
Delivered by Bordon Security
This service is delivered by Bordon Security personnel, subject to assessment, availability and agreed scope. If any element needs specialist support, we will explain the arrangement before any commitment is made.
Suitable customers and environments
- Active construction and refurbishment projects
- Sites holding plant, tools or materials with a resale value
- Developments with multiple contractors and shifting access requirements
- Sites required to demonstrate security arrangements to principal contractors, insurers or local authorities
Typical duties and scope
- Controlling and recording access for contractors, staff and deliveries
- Checking identification and, where required, competency or induction documentation
- Perimeter and compound observation, including plant and materials storage areas
- Patrols during and outside working hours, as agreed with the principal contractor
- Reporting near misses, breaches and suspicious activity through the agreed escalation route
- Supporting site-specific health and safety procedures during security duties
How the service is tailored
Assignment instructions are developed in conjunction with the principal contractor or site manager and updated as the site progresses through different construction phases. Coverage can flex around key delivery windows, weekends or periods when the site is unoccupied.
Licensing and site requirements
Officers deployed to construction-site security roles hold an appropriate SIA Security Guarding licence. Right-to-work checks and site-specific inductions are completed before deployment, in line with the principal contractor's requirements.
Services are subject to assessment, availability and agreed scope. Where appropriate, Bordon Security may coordinate delivery with suitably qualified service partners. Bordon Security remains your point of contact for the service agreed with you.
